Lean lemon mustard pork steak

Cooking Time 5 minutes (plus up to 4 hours marinating time)

Cooking Method: Pan Fry, BBQ, Grill

INGREDIENTS

4 lean pork rump or leg steaks, thick cut
Juice and rind of 1 lemon
1 tblsp oil
1 tblsp Dijon or wholegrain mustard
Salt and pepper as desired
Apple sauce to serve

METHOD

  1. Pre-heat frying pan, BBQ or grill for two minutes on medium.

  2. Combine lemon juice and rind, olive oil, mustard and seasoning in a glass bowl and mix well. Coat the steaks with marinade on both sides.

  3. Pan fry, BBQ or grill pork steaks for 2-3 minutes each side (or until cooked the way you like it).

  4. Serve hot with apple sauce and salad or steamed vegetables.

Note:

Don't overdo the cooking. Nowadays we know it's OK to cook Pork on medium for just a few minutes each side.
