Teriyaki pork stir fry

INGREDIENTS

500 g lean pork strips
1 cup teriyaki marinade
2 tblsp oil 1 onion cut into wedges
500 g stir fry vegetables, prepared
300 g fresh thick Hokkien noodles
2 cups boiling water
½ cup extra teriyaki marinade

METHOD

  1. Combine the pork strips and the teriyaki marinade, cover and allow to marinate for 10 minutes. Pour two cups of boiling hot water over the Hokkien noodles

  2. three minutes before you cook.

  3. Pre-heat wok or frying pan for 2 minutes over medium heat. Add a little oil, stir fry pork in two batches, remove and keep warm.

  4. Add remaining oil, stir fry vegetables for 3-4 minutes.

  5. Toss in drained Hokkien noodles and extra teriyaki marinade and stir fry for a further 2-3 minutes.

  6. Return pork to wok and toss for 3-4 minutes until warmed and well mixed. Serve in warmed bowls.

Tip:

A cold beer is delicious with a stir fry - or you could complement the Japanese flavour of Teriyaki with sake, served either ice cold or warmed.
